He’d clumsily gotten out of bed, a slight handover from the night before making his head pound with each movement. He’d pulled his sneakers on and a knitted sweater (that was most likely Jareth’s but he wasn’t in a state to care) as he slipped out of his dorm room.
He walked down the hall enjoying the peace and quiet, not only did it help him think but it also meant he wasn’t flinching every time someone raised their voice. As he walked the bare walls suddenly where filled with posters, making him come to a halt. He tugged at one reading it slowly in his current state. He ran a hand through his already messy hair before looking up at the sound of footsteps.
"I thought you’d fallen off the face of the earth.." He said sleep still weighing heavily on his voice as the beautiful brunette appeared in front of him.
Jaime. As soon his voice filled her ears, she paused, her shoes stopping in motion. She didn’t turn to face the prince, Briar only stood there with her back to him, breathing slowly in and out, pondering what had been the chances. After a good minute had passed, she spun around on her heel to look at him square in the face.
And it just so happen to be in Briar’s character to never let her facade of pure joy and indulgence falter, so she smiled brightly at him. It more sarcastic then actually joyous. “My whole life doesn’t revolve around getting drunk off my white horse, unlike some people,” she paused again to genuinely frown, studying the blonde prince, “you look like shit Jaime… How late were you out last night and how much alcohol did you drink because I can smell it from here.” As saying so, she fanned the air near her nose while shaking her head almost pretentiously. She wanted to think herself better then him, but more times then not she had woken up in the same condition.

I yawned as I shuffled over to my locker. I’d made the mistake of staying up late last night graffiting the back wall of the gym and was considering skipping first period altogether. This was going to be another day of constant thoughts of ‘What’s the point?’, no doubt.
I noticed a flyer fall out of my locker as I opened it and shrugged before picking it up to take a look. I frowned as I read the details of Briar’s party. She hardly ever invited me to her parties. I usually ended up crashing them and she didn’t mind, but that was different to being invited. I’d started an argument with Maddie the other day about her not inviting me to her party and mentioned Briar inviting me to hers, but in truth I was lying. I knew she and the other Royals never wanted me at their prissy parties, and I usually only went to irritate them.
I turned my head as I spotted Briar, looking as beautiful as her name implied, as expected for the daughter of Sleeping Beauty. “Hey, Briar?” I called out to her, waving the flyer in my hand, “Did you put this in my locker by mistake?”
Briar was caught off guard by the sudden call of her name, causing her to almost stumble. She had been in a certain party zone that most didn’t dare to interrupt. But that was Sparrow for a you. An interesting personality at Ever After High that refused to follow by social norms in a way that even Raven didn’t dare. It wasn’t that the pink princess disliked the future Robin Hood, there was only school drama related tension between the two.
She turned back to face the guitarist, taking her time in walking to him. The princess stood tall in her black stilettos, not a hair out of place. The girl looking more like she was trying to sell people into a political party rather then an average day in high school. “Nope,” she smiled large and paused for suspense, “everyone is invited. I like to think of it as bygones be bygones. All royals, all rebels… even those in between (she added after a moments pause in reference to Poppy’s recent deceleration of roybality.)”
It was obvious to any onlooker that Briar had something on her tongue that she debated was worth the risk or not. “You know… Sparrow, I was wondering if you’d possibly like to play? You and your band, with commission of course. That is, if you’re up to playing at one of my parties. It might be too wild for you to handle,” she jokingly challenged.

For it seemed like months that Briar hid away from the social scene of Ever After High. With the school year progressing and several unheard changes going on in the halls, the princes destined to sleep for a hundred years needed time to her lonesome.
Most of it was dedicated to preparation for a party, a celebration that the students of the prestigious boarding school had never seen before. It was overdue. Very overdue. But it was all kept secret. Her antics were put to a bare minimum. Even the horrendous schoolmaster presumed something was wrong with Briar.
It was an early spring day in which the princess maneuvered out of bed, dressed in one of her usual easy-to-move pink dresses, hair in loose curls, and a plan on her heels. While too early for anyone to truly be walking the tile floors of Ever After High, Briar took her time as she released dozens of hundreds of flyers for her newest shindig.
A black light party. Everyone was invited, even those who even socialites like Apple refused to speak to. That upcoming weekend, the doors of nearby rented out facility would open up it’s doors for a party that would rock the ages.
